HOW TO DISABLE VERIFIED BOOT ON INFINIX S4 (X626) - MT6762

If you are looking to customize your Infinix S4, the need for an unlocked bootloader is a necessity but even after that, you will find that it is still not possible to run a custom recovery like TWRP unless you disable the verified boot. The moment you try to flash any other image apart from the official ones, your device will keep bootlooping with a message directing you to flash a signed image. Luckily for you, this post will help you get out of that issue within a very short time.

Whether you are trying to root via a patched boot image or the recently released TWRP on the link above, you will need to perform the following steps to have your phone booting normally without complaining about secured boot.

Guide:

NB: You must setup ADB and FASTBOOT tools on your PC before you can go on with this process

  1. Download the required file from this link: VBMETA
  2. Connect your device to the PC in bootloader/fastboot mode (Power + Volume Down)
  3. Open a command window in the folder containing the downloaded file in Step 1
  4. Type this command: fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
  5. Hit Enter and wait for the process to complete
  6. Type fastboot reboot and hit Enter to exit fastboot mode and reboot your device

Voila! That is all you need to be able to use a Magisk patched boot image or TWRP custom recovery. Do not hesitate to conatct me in case you get stuck anywhere with this process.
